Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a two-year contract for the supply, servicing, repairs, and maintenance of plumbing and drainage equipment within the Alfred Nzo District. The contract aims to ensure reliable and compliant management of plumbing and drainage systems, enhance operational efficiency, and promote safety and quality standards in line with relevant legislation and standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply of plumbing materials and components
• Execution of repair works related to existing plumbing and drainage systems
• Installation of new plumbing and drainage infrastructure
• Servicing and maintenance of plumbing and drainage equipment
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards during all activities
• Provision of qualified personnel and equipment for the duration of the contract

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of plumbing materials and components as per specifications
• Execution of repairs and installations in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., SANS, building codes)
• Maintenance and servicing of plumbing and drainage systems to ensure functionality and compliance
• Development and implementation of site-specific health and safety plans
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, and Construction Regulations, 2014
• Provision of certified and trained personnel, including plumbers and safety officers
• Proper management of hazardous substances and asbestos where applicable
• Effective waste management and disposal procedures
• Accurate record-keeping and documentation of work performed

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Registration with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in a grading of 2SO/1SO PE ONLY
• Suitable experience in providing plumbing and drainage services, repairs, and maintenance
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications, including plumbing trade test certificates and registration with IOPSA or PIRB
• Capacity to supply and manage materials, equipment, and personnel for the contract duration
• Ability to develop and implement health and safety plans compliant with legal requirements
• Proven track record of completing similar projects successfully, supported by references and project certificates
• Knowledge of environmental management, waste disposal, and asbestos handling procedures
• Effective communication and reporting skills for coordination with the client and compliance monitoring
