Overview

The mission of the Limpopo Provincial Treasury is strengthening good governance and sound public resource management in provincial and local government for sustainable service delivery. The Department’s strategic outcomes are: sustainable support services and good governance; departmental unqualified audit outcomes; sustainable fiscal policy for the province by 2025; unqualified audit outcomes of provincial departments, public entities and municipalities; and increased economic participation of youth, women, military veterans and persons with disabilities, and SMMEs.

Provincial Treasury is directly responsible for implementing, managing or overseeing the following legislation and their relevant regulations: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) of 1999 (as amended by Act 29 of 1999); Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) 56 of 2003; Annual Division of Revenue Act; Appropriation Act; Adjustments Appropriation Act; and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act.
