Overview

The mission of the Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform is to champion land and agrarian transformation, promote and facilitate increased production, and provide expertise for improved livelihoods, sustainable rural development and food security for all.

The Department’s strategic goals are to provide effective and efficient governance; ensure sustainable use and management of natural resources; promote optimal and sustainable agricultural production to ensure food security; ensure biosafety and biosecurity for the wellness of the public; ensure sustainable agrarian reform; include rural economic growth through promotion and support of agribusinesses and agroprocessing; and coordinate and facilitate the implementation of rural development programmes.
