At present, people from disadvantaged communities are entirely excluded from sharing their stories with readers. I feel that this is intolerable as our best South African stories are coming from these very people and by excluding them, we are not only losing our heritage, but also feeding poverty and lack of success in our poorer regions.
BonRo Studios currently edits and publishes books for writers who want to self-publish. Even the boutique publishers who offer this service are unaffordable as our writers do not have the finances to pay for this service. We work with each writer, nurturing and coaching them through their writing phase, from handwritten manuscripts, through transcription, editing, and publishing.
Our primary focus is to uplift underprivileged communities to be able to sustain themselves through their artistic skills, and to educate, support through ongoing mentoring, and to nurture successful careers in the arts.
