Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services for the Bruntville Community Health Centre (CHC) located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The aim is to ensure the provision of professional cleaning services that meet specified standards, including infection control, safety, and quality standards, for a period of twelve months. The services include cleaning of buildings, offices, toilets, and associated facilities, adhering to health and safety regulations and national standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of cleaning services at Mpofana Clinic under Bruntville CHC for a duration of 12 months.
• Cleaning of internal and external building surfaces, floors, walls, windows, and fixtures.
• Cleaning of toilets, bathrooms, sluice rooms, and changerooms with specified infection control protocols.
• Supply of cleaning machinery, equipment, chemicals, detergents, and consumables.
• Provision of uniforms and protective clothing for cleaning staff.
• Adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols, health and safety standards, and national cleaning standards (SABS approved).
• Site visits, briefing sessions, and compliance with specified technical and administrative requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of adequately trained and experienced cleaning staff, including supervisors or team leaders with verifiable experience.
• Use of SABS-approved cleaning chemicals, detergents, and disinfectants, compliant with ISO 9001 standards.
• Supply and maintenance of cleaning machinery and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, scrubbing machines, and safety signage.
• Implementation of infection control protocols, including daily cleaning of high-touch surfaces, toilets, and clinical areas.
• Adherence to specified cleaning schedules, including daily, weekly, and quarterly tasks such as deep cleaning, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors.
• Provision of uniforms, protective gear, and safety footwear for staff.
• Proper documentation, reporting, and record-keeping, including daily duty sheets and checklists.
• Participation in compulsory site meetings and briefing sessions.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Proven experience in providing cleaning services in healthcare or similar environments, with references.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Competence in handling and using approved cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
• Capacity to manage and supervise cleaning staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and standards.
• Understanding of environmental health standards and compliance with national standards (SABS).
• Ability to provide documentation such as CVs, proof of experience, and compliance certificates.
• Capacity to participate in site meetings, training, and reporting requirements.
