Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of two (2) commercial trailers equipped with heavy-duty ramps and mounted tool storage boxes. These trailers are intended for use by the Roads and Stormwater Department in Worcester to enhance operational efficiency and equipment management.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of two (2) commercial trailers with specified dimensions and features.
• Inclusion of heavy-duty ramps, mounted tool storage boxes (600mm), and associated accessories.
• Delivery of trailers to the designated address in Worcester within 14 calendar days after receipt of official order.
• Compliance with detailed technical specifications outlined in the tender documentation, including construction, safety, and warranty requirements.

Technical Requirements

The trailers must meet the following specifications:

• Length: 3000 mm (outside), Width: 1500 mm (outside), Depth: 300 mm
• Chassis: U-channel and lip-channel tubing, capable of opening down with rails and a tailgate that swings open.
• Heavy-duty ramp capable of sliding in under the trailer, supporting 1.0-1.2 ton loads.
• Fitted with a 600mm full-width tool storage box with lock(s), mounted at the front behind the A-frame.
• Axle capacity: 1600 kg (braked), with overrun coupler rated at 2000 kg and LED truck lights.
• Galvanized steel sides including rails, 14-inch x 6-hole rims, 2 mm galvanized floor and sides.
• Single axle configuration, painted white (Jotun or similar, SABS approved).
• Additional features: jockey wheel, parking handbrake, two rear parking jacks, spare wheel, tie-down hooks, safety chains, registration, temporary license, data dot, and warranty (12-24 months).
• Compliance with safety, quality, and durability standards as specified.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in manufacturing or supplying commercial trailers with similar specifications.
• Ability to provide detailed technical specifications and photographic evidence of the trailers offered.
• Capability to deliver within the stipulated timeframe (14 days post-order).
• Adherence to quality standards, including galvanized materials, LED lighting, and approved paint.
• Provision of warranty and after-sales support, including repairs and maintenance.
• Compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements, including registration, licensing, and data dot installation.
• Ability to supply all necessary documentation, including specifications, proof of compliance, and relevant certifications (e.g., proof of previous similar projects, BEE certificates).
