Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a 5mm bladed dilating tip bladed trocar with a stability sleeve, suitable for use in gynecological surgery for safe laparoscopic procedures. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of sterile, high-quality surgical instruments that are compatible with existing equipment, with an emphasis on compliance with technical specifications and standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of:

• 5mm bladed dilating tip bladed trocar with stability sleeve, 5mm diameter and 100mm length, incorporating anti-fogging technology.
• 5mm stability sleeve only, sterile, with the same dimensions.

The items must be sterile, compatible with each other, and supplied in specified packaging (6 units per box). The procurement covers the delivery to Grey's Hospital, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, within the specified contract period (once-off).

Technical Requirements

• The trocar must have a 5mm diameter, 100mm length, with bladed dilating tip and anti-fogging features.
• The stability sleeve must be 5mm in diameter, 100mm in length, sterile, and compatible with the trocar.
• Items must conform to the specified standards, be sterile, and suitable for gynecological laparoscopic procedures.
• Items must be supplied in packaging of 6 units per box, with samples provided upon request.
• All items must meet the specifications detailed in the procurement documentation and be compliant with relevant medical standards.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Bidder must be authorized to manufacture, import, or distribute medical devices, supported by valid licensing from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).
• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with technical specifications and standards, including sterilization and anti-fogging technology.
• Bidder should have experience in supplying surgical instruments, with the ability to provide samples and technical documentation as proof of compliance.
• Bidder must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide relevant registration and tax compliance documentation.
• Technical staff or representatives should be capable of providing technical support and after-sales service if required.
