Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing and installation of fire equipment at Mpophomeni Clinic, ensuring fire safety compliance and operational readiness. The project aims to maintain effective fire protection measures through regular servicing, supply, and installation of fire extinguishers, hose reels, and related safety files, with a guarantee period to ensure quality and performance.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing of various fire extinguishers (9kg dry powder, 4.5kg dry powder, 6.8kg CO2) at specified locations within Mpophomeni Clinic.
• Supply and installation of additional fire extinguishers (4.5kg dry powder) in designated areas.
• Servicing of hose reels located outside the main building and behind waste areas.
• Submission of safety documentation, including safety files.
• Testing of all installed and serviced equipment post-maintenance.
• Guarantee of workmanship and materials for a minimum period of six months.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications mandate:

• Compliance with the Department of Health Standard Specifications for plumbing and installation of firefighting equipment.
• Use of new, unused, and certified equipment (e.g., SABs mark bearing items).
• Servicing of specified fire safety equipment as detailed in the specification document.
• Proper testing and commissioning of all equipment after servicing.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and related regulations.
• Provision of safety files and documentation as proof of compliance.
• Guarantee of all work and equipment for at least six months from completion.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified technicians with accreditation under the South African Qualification & Certification Committee (SAQCC) for fire equipment servicing.
• Experience in servicing and installing firefighting equipment, evidenced by previous orders and completion certificates.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Ability to prepare and submit technical documentation, safety files, and compliance certificates.
• Capacity to execute the scope of work within the stipulated timeframe (one week) and guarantee period.
