Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the renewal of centreline road markings within Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality, including zebra crossings, pedestrian crossings, road intersections, and line markings on specified streets, to improve road safety and traffic management.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Renewal of approximately 17 km of road markings across various streets and intersections, including centre lines, barrier lines, and single lines.
• Repainting of all zebra crossings, pedestrian crossings, and road intersections in specified streets such as WMM street, K.S Sifile street, Fikile Mlomo street, Dolly Mzadyume street, Michael Dlangamandla street, Mayaba street, Noma Ngesi street, and the intersection of Sifile street and R61.
• Completion of markings before the end of Q4, with specific emphasis on all relevant road markings, stop markings, and channelizing lanes.
• Adherence to technical specifications and standards as outlined in the municipal documentation and specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Repainting approximately 17 km of road markings, zebra crossings, pedestrian crossings, and intersections as detailed in the specifications.
• Use of durable, high-quality road marking materials suitable for urban traffic conditions.
• All markings must comply with the specified standards for line types, widths, and placement.
• Completion of all markings within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic flow.
• Provision of a concept document for communication strategy review related to the project.
