Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure after service repair of infrared equipment at Ekukhulengeni Psychiatric Hospital, ensuring the equipment is maintained according to the after service report and technical specifications. The aim is to ensure the infrared system functions optimally, with repairs carried out by qualified personnel, and to uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing after service repair of the infrared equipment as per the after service report.
• Visiting the site for inspection and assessment prior to repair.
• Carrying out repairs, replacements, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical components as specified.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
• Providing a 12-month guarantee on workmanship and supplied spares.
• Adhering to environmental, health, and safety protocols during execution.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• Compliance with CIDB standards (EB & EE).
• Use of materials that meet SABS/SANS standards.
• Provision of proof of previous experience and completed orders.
• Submission of BBBEE certificates and a letter of good standing.
• Site visit and inspection prior to work commencement.
• Adherence to environmental health standards for disposal of waste and materials.
• Carrying out repairs in accordance with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant regulations.
• Proper documentation, including detailed quotations, service reports, and warranties.
• Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and safety gear, conforming to OHS Act standards.
• Ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations during repairs, including after-hours work if required.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified electrical and mechanical technicians with experience in medical equipment repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, circuit labeling, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret technical reports and specifications related to infrared systems.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and site safety protocols.
• Experience in working within healthcare environments, ensuring safety and confidentiality.
• Capability to provide a comprehensive warranty and after-service support.
