Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the after-service repair of inline heaters at Ladysmith Regional Hospital. The scope includes repairing leaks, replacing circulation pumps, contactors, elements, gaskets, relays, and other components to ensure the proper functioning of inline heaters used for providing hot water in hospital wards and departments.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply of labour and SABS-approved materials for repairs.
• Execution of repairs such as leak repairs, component replacements, and general maintenance of inline heaters across various hospital wards (Ward 8, Ward 9, Ward 10, etc.).
• Completion of the project within a contract period of four weeks from site handover.
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and specifications, including safety and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of labour and materials that meet original manufacturer standards.
• Repairs to include fixing leaks, replacing circulation pumps, contactors, elements, gaskets, relays, and other specified components.
• Use of SABS-approved materials for all repairs.
• Adherence to specifications outlined in the project documentation, including compliance with relevant standards and codes of practice.
• Proper installation, testing, and commissioning of repaired components to ensure operational efficiency.
• Guarantee of a minimum of 12 months on all materials and workmanship from the date of final delivery.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• CIDB grading of at least 1EB/1EP and 1ME or higher, indicating capability in civil and electrical works.
• Proven experience in repairing and maintaining hospital heating systems, specifically inline heaters.
• Qualified technical personnel with relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades).
• Knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) approved materials and procedures.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and site safety regulations.
• Capacity to complete the project within the stipulated four-week period, demonstrating project management and technical competence.
