Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure after service repair to kitchen equipment at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, ensuring the availability of food to patients by maintaining functional kitchen appliances. The repair services aim to ensure the equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting hospital operations and patient care.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of after service repair to various kitchen equipment such as food warmers, tilting pans, pots, ovens, and other related appliances as detailed in the specifications.
• Site inspection and briefing session scheduled for 04/08/2026 at Victoria Mxenge Hospital.
• Delivery of repair services, including replacement of faulty parts, adjustment, and maintenance as specified.
• Compliance with safety, health, and technical standards as outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to detailed specifications for each equipment item, including replacement of thermostats, switches, safety cut-outs, and other components.
• Provision of a detailed work plan outlining proposed repair procedures.
• Compliance with quality standards, including certification (e.g., SANS 1850), safety files, and relevant trade qualifications.
• Use of approved and compatible spare parts and components.
• Completion of repairs within the stipulated timeframe, with proper documentation and certification.
• Provision of safety and health measures, including safety signage, site cordoning, PPE, and risk assessments prior to work commencement.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified artisans with trade test certificates, specifically in electrical or relevant trades.
• CIDB registration with a minimum grade of ME/EB Grade 2.
• Experience in repairing commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including the ability to prepare safety files and risk assessments.
• Capability to provide technical support, detailed work plans, and certification of compliance.
• Staff with valid health and safety training, competency certificates, and fitness certificates where applicable.
