• Conduct systematic inspections and fault diagnostics of heat pumps situated in the EMS Residence and EMS Workshop at McCord Provincial Eye Hospital.
• Execute all necessary corrective repairs, including compressor servicing, refrigerant recovery/recharge, electrical component replacement, and thermostat/calibration adjustments.
• Recommission and test all repaired units to verify performance against baseline specifications.
• Provide documented proof of repairs, including before-and-after performance metrics and warranty certificates for labour and replaced parts.
• Participate in a mandatory site meeting to coordinate access, safety protocols, and project timelines.

Technical Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate capacity to deliver professional HVAC repair services that align with institutional and national standards. Core technical expectations include:

• Strict compliance with SANS 10142 (electrical installations) and SANS 1451 (refrigeration and air conditioning).
• Utilisation of manufacturer-approved or OEM-equivalent spare parts compatible with the installed heat pump models.
• Implementation of lockout/tagout procedures, refrigerant handling certifications, and fire/electrical safety measures appropriate for a healthcare environment.
• Submission of a detailed method statement outlining diagnostic tools, repair sequences, waste disposal protocols, and quality assurance checks.
• Ability to operate within restricted hospital zones while minimising noise, dust, and operational interference.
