Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an anaesthetic circuit (adult single/double limb design) for Harry Gwala Regional Hospital to ensure the availability of quality anaesthetic equipment that meets specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of disposable adult anaesthetic circuits with specific technical and quality standards, including compliance with relevant standards such as ISO 5367 or equivalent. The procurement covers the required quantity of units, packaging, and associated documentation, along with sample submission and adherence to evaluation criteria.

Technical Requirements

• Single-use adult breathing circuits with extra limb and breathing bag, approximately 1.8m in length, with a 2L reservoir bag.
• Transparent, low-resistance, non-kinking, lightweight, crush-resistant, and pliable tubing with spiral outer casing, latex-free, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and non-conductive medical-grade plastic.
• Connectors: 22mm female connectors bonded securely, with a spare connector, Y-piece at patient’s end, and an elbow-piece with capped luer lock port.
• Individually packed, sterile, for single use only, compliant with ISO 5367 or equivalent.
• Good fit between mask connector and circuit, with clear labelling (size, trade name, CE number, sterilization method, manufacturing site, lot number, manufacture and expiry dates).
• Must meet the quality standard: SANS 1866-1:2018 or equivalent.
• Sample required for testing and verification.

Skills Requirements

• Understanding of medical device specifications and standards (ISO, SANS).
• Ability to prepare and submit compliant technical documentation and samples.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including completion of official forms and adherence to evaluation criteria.
• Capability to provide after-sales support, technical information, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including registration with relevant authorities (e.g., SAHPRA).
