Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an annual service of boreholes located within clinics at Ladysmith Regional Hospital. The service aims to ensure the boreholes are maintained in optimal condition to supply water reliably to the clinics, thereby supporting their operational needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the comprehensive annual servicing of boreholes across multiple clinics in the vicinity of Ladysmith. This includes inspection, maintenance, and verification of the borehole systems to ensure they meet specified standards and operate efficiently. The service covers clinics such as Driefontein, Watersmeet, Klienfontein, Mativaneskop, and Steadville, with distances from Ladysmith Hospital ranging from 10 km to 40 km.

Technical Requirements

• Inspection of all wire connections, pumps, and overall condition of the borehole units.
• Checking earth grounding and power supply integrity.
• Verification that all safety and operational controls are functioning correctly.
• Ensuring the boreholes comply with relevant standards (ISO, SANS).
• Provision of a detailed maintenance report and certification upon completion.
• Adherence to the specifications outlined in Annexure A, including compliance checks and quality standards.
• Provision of proof of similar completed works and certification of quality standards.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified artisans or technicians with experience in borehole maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pump mechanics, and safety standards.
• Ability to conduct detailed inspections and produce comprehensive reports.
• Familiarity with ISO and SANS standards relevant to borehole systems.
• Competence in adhering to health and safety regulations during maintenance activities.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation.
