Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure annual fire system servicing at Mosvold Clinics, ensuring safety compliance, operational readiness, and adherence to relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Annual servicing of fire extinguishers, hose reels, and fire hydrants at Mosvold Clinics and associated facilities.
• Supply, installation, and commissioning of new fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and hose reels where needed.
• Inspection, testing, and maintenance of existing fire-fighting equipment in accordance with SANS standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Provision of technical reports, certificates, and documentation confirming compliance and service completion.
• Adherence to specified standards, including SABS and SANS codes, and compliance with legal and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Complete inspection, servicing, and maintenance of all fire extinguishers, hose reels, and hydrants in accordance with SANS 1475-1, 105, 019, 1576 standards.
• Pressure testing of CO2 cylinders every five years and other equipment every three years.
• Replacement of defective or worn parts, refilling, and recharging of fire extinguishers.
• Supply and installation of new fire extinguishers (4.5kg, 9kg, 1.5kg, etc.) and hose reels with signage, connecting to water supply.
• Provision of service labels, certificates, and detailed reports post-maintenance.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant SABS standards.
• Availability of qualified technicians registered with SAQCC for servicing.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• CIDB registration as a Mechanical or Fire Equipment Maintenance (ME) contractor.
• Certified technicians registered with the South African Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC) for fire equipment servicing.
• Proven experience in servicing, repairing, and maintaining fire safety equipment in healthcare or similar institutional environments.
• Capacity to provide emergency response and on-site repairs within stipulated timeframes.
• Ability to produce valid certificates of compliance, pressure test reports, and service logs.
• Capacity to supply, install, and commission new fire safety equipment as specified.
