Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to provide an annual service to gate motors located in undercover parking areas at Grey’s Hospital, ensuring their proper maintenance, functionality, and safety features are upheld.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Performing major servicing on two gate motors.
• Cleaning and inspecting motor covers, rollers, rails, sensors, and electrical components.
• Checking and adjusting alignment, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting batteries and electrical connections.
• Programming remotes, replacing batteries, and testing safety features.
• Inspecting mechanical gears, limit switches, and the overall gate mechanism for any abnormalities.
• Clearing debris and ensuring all components are in optimal working condition.
• Providing a detailed service report and repair quotations if defects are found.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must adhere to the following technical standards and specifications:

• Perform maintenance in accordance with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) codes and relevant electrical and safety regulations.
• Use equipment and parts compliant with CIDB grading of EB or above.
• Ensure all electrical and mechanical components are inspected, tested, and properly maintained.
• Supply and program remotes, replace batteries, and ensure safety features are fully operational.
• Report any defects or issues with detailed documentation and provide repair quotations as needed.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must possess:

• Qualified electricians or technicians with CIDB grading of EB or above.
• Certified technicians with relevant electrical and mechanical expertise in gate motor maintenance.
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance on automated gate systems.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to electrical and mechanical gate systems.
• Ability to provide detailed service reports and technical documentation.
