Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an annual service to kitchen equipment at GJGM Regional Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, ensuring proper maintenance, inspection, and repair of kitchen appliances such as convection ovens, steam pots, tilting pans, and other related equipment. The aim is to maintain operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with standards through scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of a comprehensive annual maintenance service for specified kitchen equipment.
• Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance, including inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and repairs as per the detailed schedules.
• Performing running repairs and replacements of spare parts as required.
• Providing technical support, documentation, and certification of completed services.
• Adhering to the prescribed schedules, specifications, and standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to the attached service schedules for six-monthly preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment such as convection ovens, steam generators, potato peelers, and meat slicers.
• Completion of service reports, certification of work carried out, and documentation of spares used.
• Compliance with the specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Provision of qualified personnel, including skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled assistants, with appropriate certifications and experience.
• Use of approved spare parts and consumables, with proper documentation and warranty coverage.
• Submission of all required documentation, including certificates, manuals, and compliance forms.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment, particularly convection ovens, steam generators, and related appliances.
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications (e.g., ECSA or ECB registration for electrical technicians).
• Experience in executing scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs in a healthcare or similar environment.
• Ability to provide detailed service reports, certification, and documentation as per the contract requirements.
• Capacity to supply and manage spare parts, tools, and consumables efficiently.
• Compliance with health, safety, and quality standards mandated by the Department of Health and relevant legislation.
