Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a Draftsperson (Architectural Technologist) to produce design development and detailed drawings for the Madadeni Hospital laundry upgrade project, including replacement of laundry equipment. The appointed professional will produce both soft and hard copies of the design drawings for approval by the Health Infrastructure Approval Committee (HIAC).

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Producing detailed design drawings for the laundry upgrade project at Madadeni Hospital, Section 5, Newcastle.
• Providing both digital (PDF, AutoCAD/approved software) and hard copy drawings.
• Adhering to relevant standards and specifications, including KwaZulu-Natal Province specifications and applicable legislation.
• Completing the design within a two-month period after handover, for review and approval.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Registration with SACAP as a Professional Draughtsperson with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
• Compliance with KwaZulu-Natal Province Standard Specification for Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, and Ventilation Services.
• Adherence to all relevant health, safety, electrical, and building regulations, including SANS standards and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Preparation of detailed design drawings, including site visits and understanding of site conditions.
• Submission of both digital and hard copies of drawings for approval.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Registration with SACAP as a Professional Draughtsperson.
• Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in architectural drafting or related fields.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent approved design software.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and specifications applicable to hospital infrastructure projects.
• Ability to produce accurate, detailed, and compliant design drawings within tight deadlines.
• Experience in healthcare or hospital infrastructure projects is advantageous.
