Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of seven (7) suitably qualified and CIDB-graded EB3 and EB4 contractors to provide electrical maintenance services on an as-and-when-required basis for Mangosuthu University of Technology. The aim is to ensure responsive, competent, and adequately resourced contractors capable of undertaking electrical repairs, fault-finding, minor refurbishments, emergency works, and routine maintenance to maintain safety, reliability, compliance, and operational continuity of the university’s electrical infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Attending to electrical faults, breakdowns, failures, and defects reported across university buildings, infrastructure, and facilities.
• Performing day-to-day electrical maintenance and minor electrical works in workshops, residences, and common areas.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to enhance system reliability and safety.
• Responding to urgent and emergency electrical incidents that pose risks to persons, property, or operations.
• Executing minor electrical installation works related to maintenance and operational needs, such as refurbishments.

Work will be issued on an as-and-when-required basis, subject to budget availability and operational priorities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of electrical maintenance services across university campuses and facilities.
• Attending to electrical faults and defects promptly.
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance to reduce failures and improve system safety.
• Responding swiftly to emergency electrical incidents affecting critical infrastructure.
• Carrying out minor electrical installation and refurbishment works as needed.
• Compliance with CIDB grading EB3 and EB4, PIRB registration, and relevant electrical and safety standards.
• Provision of qualified personnel with appropriate trade certificates, wireman licenses, and relevant experience.

Skills Requirements

The skills and personnel requirements include:

• Qualified electrical artisans with relevant trade certificates and wireman licenses.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and minor installations.
• Proven track record with references demonstrating experience in electrical maintenance services.
• Personnel must have relevant safety certifications (e.g., DoL, QCTO, HWSeta, SAIOSH).
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations and perform repairs efficiently.
• Capacity to provide technical support and maintain safety and quality standards.
