Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and experienced service provider to supply a Block Digester and Centrifuge to Mangosuthu University of Technology. The selected provider will be responsible for delivering equipment that meets specified technical standards and supporting the university's research and laboratory workflows.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of a Centrifuge with detailed specifications such as capacity, speed range, RCF, noise level, rotor options, programmable memories, and safety features.
• Provision of a Block Digestor with specifications related to preparation workflows, monitoring, warranty, support, compliance, and documentation.
• Delivery of the equipment to the university's designated location.
• Ensuring the equipment complies with relevant standards, including IVDR conformity.
• Providing necessary documentation, warranty, and support services post-delivery.

Technical Requirements

For the Centrifuge:

• Maximum capacity of 4 × 290 mL (e.g., blood tubes, conical tubes, urine tubes, plates)
• Speed range: 50 – 15,000 rpm (adjustable in 10 rpm increments)
• Maximum RCF: 50 – 24,400 × g (adjustable in 1 × g increments)
• Noise level: ≤ 54 dB(A)
• Rotor options: Choice of 9 rotors (swing-out and fixed-angle)
• Programs: 98 programmable memories
• Acceleration/Deceleration profiles: 9 acceleration and 10 deceleration stages
• Housing: Metal with viewing port
• Safety features: One-hand lid lock, lid drop protection, emergency lid release
• Compliance: IVDR-conform (EU Regulation 2017/746)

For the Block Digestor:

• Specifications related to workflow preparation, monitoring, and compliance as detailed in the RFQ documents.
• Provision of warranty and support services.
• Adherence to relevant standards and documentation requirements.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying laboratory equipment, specifically digesters and centrifuges.
• Ability to meet detailed technical specifications and compliance standards.
• Capability to provide installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.
• Knowledge of IVDR regulations and safety standards.
• Qualified personnel to handle technical queries, installation, and maintenance.
• Ability to deliver within the specified timeframe and adhere to quality standards.
