Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced service provider to supply and deliver laboratory consumables, chemicals, PPE, and related laboratory accessories to Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT). The aim is to support teaching, learning, research, practical laboratory activities, and general laboratory operations at MUT.

Scope

The scope of work includes the supply and delivery of various laboratory consumables and related items as listed in the pricing schedule. These items encompass:

• Laboratory consumables (e.g., specimen jars, microscope slides, pipettes, coverslips)
• Chemicals (e.g., ethanol, acetone, methanol)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks
• Laboratory accessories including spray bottles, spatulas, eyewash stations, and more

The service provider must ensure timely delivery to support MUT’s operational needs across teaching, research, and practical activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of laboratory consumables, chemicals, PPE, and accessories as specified in the RFQ documentation and pricing schedule.
• Adherence to specifications, quality standards, and safety data sheets (SDS) for chemicals.
• Delivery within the stipulated timeframes and to the specified locations.
• Compliance with MUT’s procurement policies, including BBBEE requirements.
• Submission of all mandatory documents and declarations as part of the bidding process.

Skills and Experience Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in supplying laboratory consumables and chemicals to educational or research institutions.
• Proven track record of reliable delivery and quality assurance.
• Capability to supply a wide range of laboratory products as listed in the RFQ.
• Understanding of safety standards and compliance with health and safety regulations related to laboratory supplies.
• Ability to meet MUT’s delivery deadlines and contractual obligations.
