Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an experienced Chartered Accountant (CA) with IFRS expertise to assist Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) during its year-end statutory audit. The appointed CA will support the university in ensuring IFRS compliance, reviewing financial statements, assisting with audit queries, and performing ad hoc duties related to the audit process for the period from 1st April 2026 to 30th June 2026.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing IFRS specialist support for the statutory audit.
• Reviewing and assisting with Fixed Asset Register (FAR) review and upload to ITS.
• Preparing or quality assuring working papers.
• Reviewing Draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS) for IFRS compliance and accuracy.
• Dealing with audit queries.
• Performing other ad hoc duties as required.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the service provider must:

• Be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with IFRS expertise.
• Have experience in IFRS and financial statement review within the public sector, including public entities.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in IFRS and financial statement preparation/review for the public sector.
• Provide signed reference letters demonstrating previous relevant experience.
• Submit certified copies of professional certifications, memberships, and CVs of key personnel, especially the IFRS specialist.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required include:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Proven IFRS expertise, particularly in the context of public sector entities.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements for public sector organizations.
• Ability to review and assist with Fixed Asset Registers and audit documentation.
• Strong analytical, review, and communication skills to handle audit queries and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Capability to perform ad hoc duties efficiently and accurately within the audit timeframe.
