Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitably experienced service provider to conduct an auction of 8 redundant municipal vehicles on behalf of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality. The service provider will be responsible for the total administration of the auction process, including marketing, security, buyer registration, logistics, and ensuring the transfer of ownership to successful bidders.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Conducting a public auction to sell obsolete and/or redundant municipal vehicles.
• Providing a list of items to be sold and indicating the commission percentage charged on sales.
• Managing all aspects of the auction, including security arrangements, buyer recruitment and registration, advertising, lot numbering, and logistics.
• Handling the administrative processes before, during, and after the auction, including receipt of income and transfer of ownership.
• Providing necessary equipment such as loudspeaker systems at own cost.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Experience in auctioneering services, specifically for municipal or similar assets.
• Ability to make security arrangements for the auction day.
• Effective advertising campaigns for the auctions, with costs borne by the service provider.
• Provision of administrative support, including lot management and auction logistics.
• Conducting the auction in accordance with the specified conditions of sale, including handling payments, transfer procedures, and legal compliance.
• Provision of sound systems and other necessary equipment at own cost.

Skills Requirements

The skills required from the service provider include:

• Proven experience in auctioneering, particularly for municipal assets or similar items.
