Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure six (6) multiparameter BP machines for Nseleni Community Health Centre, KwaZulu-Natal, to enhance blood pressure monitoring capabilities. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of reliable, compliant, and technically suitable medical devices that meet departmental standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and demonstration of six multiparameter BP monitors, including related accessories, manuals, and training. The tender covers technical evaluation, compliance with specifications, preference points allocation, and post-installation support, ensuring the equipment is fit for adult, paediatric, and neonatal use within hospital and operating theatre environments.

Technical Requirements

• The BP machines must be multiparameter monitors capable of ECG, NIBP, temperature, and SpO2 measurements.
• The devices must operate on 220V AC mains with an internal rechargeable battery providing at least 1 hour of operation during power failure.
• The monitors should have a high-resolution colour display (minimum 26cm diagonal) with clear visibility from 3 meters.
• The equipment must be lightweight, portable, and fitted with a carry handle.
• The devices must be suitable for adult, paediatric, and neonatal patients, with configurable parameters and alarms.
• The BP cuffs must be bladderless, latex-free, and available in adult, paediatric, and neonate sizes, with optional accessories listed separately.
• Alarm systems must be adjustable, with audible and visual alerts, and capable of being temporarily silenced.
• The equipment must comply with IEC 60601 standards for electrical safety, electromagnetic interference, and leakage currents.
• Suppliers must provide manuals, software, calibration tools, and spare parts for at least 10 years.
• Guarantee/warranty period of a minimum of 24 months, including maintenance and repair support.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and servicing multiparameter medical monitors, preferably within South Africa.
• Technical expertise in calibration, maintenance, and repair of electronic medical devices, with a well-established local service facility in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Qualified technicians trained by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to handle the specific models offered.
• Ability to demonstrate product compliance with technical specifications and standards.
• Capacity to provide comprehensive training to hospital staff and ongoing technical support.
• Knowledge of relevant South African health and safety regulations, including Radiation Control licensing if applicable.
• Capability to supply optional accessories, spare parts, and software updates for the equipment's lifecycle.
