Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to calibrate safety valves at multiple locations, including Island View, Durban Pump Station, Twini, Mngeni, Hilcrest, Duzi, Mooi River, and Hilltop. The calibration aims to ensure that pressure relief valves are operational, correctly set, and capable of protecting vessels and systems from overpressure conditions.

Scope of Services

The scope involves calibrating safety valves associated with the manifold and Gensets across the specified stations. The service provider will ensure that pressure relief valves are correctly calibrated to open at designated set pressures, have the required flow capacity, and close once system pressures return to safe levels. The work includes:

• Calibration of pressure relief valves at all specified locations
• Verification of valve operation and set pressures
• Ensuring valves are always operational and properly maintained
• Provision of documentation and certification of calibration

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Calibration of pressure relief valves to ensure they open at the correct set pressure
• Flow capacity testing to confirm proper operation under specified overpressure conditions
• Ensuring valves close once pressure normalizes
• Use of appropriate PPE during calibration activities
• Compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider include:

• Qualified Master Artisan or equivalent expertise in calibration of safety valves
• Experience in calibrating pressure relief valves in industrial settings
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to pressure systems
• Ability to operate calibration equipment accurately
• Competence in documentation and reporting of calibration results
