Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of cholesterol test strips suitable for use with compatible analyzers, specifically for testing cholesterol levels in serum and plasma. The aim is to ensure the hospital has reliable, standardized testing strips that meet specified quality and technical standards to facilitate accurate cholesterol measurement.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of cholesterol test strips, including related accessories such as safety lancets, capillary transfer tubes, device insert, and code chips.
• Provision of products that conform to specified technical and quality standards.
• Delivery to Umgeni Hospital, Old Main Road, Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Compliance with specified specifications, packaging, and quality requirements.
• Adherence to the contractual period, which is a once-off delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the cholesterol test strips include:

• Product type: 3-in-1 liquid panel strips for lipid panel testing.
• Quantity: 50 test devices, 50 safety lancets, 50 capillary transfer tubes, 1 code chip, and 60 device inserts.
• Compatibility: Must be compatible with the Accutrend machine.
• Size, color, and material specifications: To include detailed specifications such as size, color, and material as per attached documentation.
• Quality standards: Must conform to specified standards and pass inspection and testing requirements.
• Packaging: Packaged in units of 50 test kits, with proper labeling and documentation.
• Support for quality assurance and compliance with SANAS/SABS specifications.

Skills and Competency Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying medical diagnostic test strips and related consumables.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards specified in the tender documentation.
• Capacity to deliver the required quantities within the stipulated timeframe.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANAS and SABS.
• Provision of technical support, documentation, and compliance certificates as required.
• Ability to provide samples for evaluation and meet the evaluation criteria, including submission of supporting documents not older than 3 months.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preferential procurement regulations and BBBEE requirements.
