Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure CIDEX OPA 5 LITRE disinfectant solution for Port Shepstone Hospital, ensuring the supply of a quality, compliant product that meets technical specifications and safety standards. The procurement aims to support effective disinfection processes within the hospital environment.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 30 units of CIDEX OPA 5 LITRE disinfectant solution to Port Shepstone Hospital’s Supply Chain Management Department. The contract is a once-off purchase, with the product intended for disinfecting medical instruments, adhering to specified technical and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

• The active ingredient must be 5 litres with ortho-Phthalaldehyde at 0.55% and inert ingredients at 99.45%.
• The product must include a safety data sheet and clear instructions for use and storage.
• The container must be a plastic screw-cap bottle with a minimum thickness of 2mm, featuring a moulded handle for easy handling.
• The container must display Lot No./Ref. No./Batch No., manufacturing and expiry dates, and manufacturer contact details.
• The expiry date must be at least 12 months from the date of delivery.
• The product must be equivalent to CIDEX OPA from Johnson & Johnson or an approved equivalent.
• The product must comply with relevant safety, quality, and certification standards (e.g., SABS/SANS certification).
• The supply must include proper packaging to prevent damage during transit and storage.

While the tender primarily focuses on the supply of a chemical product, bidders should demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in manufacturing or distributing medical disinfectants compliant with South African standards.
• Ability to provide comprehensive safety data sheets, instructions, and certification documentation.
