Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the cleaning of gardens and grounds at Ntuzuma Clinic, ensuring maintained aesthetics, safety, and compliance with municipal regulations over a contract period of 12 months.

Scope

The scope encompasses comprehensive maintenance and cleaning of the clinic's garden and grounds, including:

• Garden maintenance within the defined property area
• Mowing all grassed areas and nature strips
• Removal of rubbish and debris
• Sweeping/blowing pathways, gutters, and driveways
• Trimming and pruning trees and shrubs, including overhanging branches
• Removal and replacement of fallen or dead trees/shrubs/plants
• Weed removal and weed control
• Supply of Job Safety Analyses and Material Safety Data Sheets
• Weekly removal of garden refuse from the site

The service must be provided Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:00, with provisions for relievers and adherence to safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The contractor must:

• Supply and operate appropriate machinery and equipment (e.g., grass cutters, brooms, axes, garden hoses)
• Ensure all tools and machinery are SABS/CE approved and properly maintained
• Implement safety procedures, including providing Safety Data Sheets and Job Safety Analyses
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including site clean-up after each service
• Provide proof of compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, including medical screening certificates and good standing letters from the Department of Labour
• Ensure staff wear PPE and display identification tags

Skills Requirements

The service provider's team must possess:

• Experience in garden and grounds maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years preferred
• Knowledge of horticultural practices, pruning, and weed control
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening machinery and tools safely
• Understanding of safety protocols and occupational health standards
• Capacity to provide trained personnel for advanced tree work and site maintenance
• Ability to prepare and submit safety documentation and reports
