Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services for the Ulundi A Clinic building for a period of 6 months. The service aims to maintain a hygienic and disinfected environment across multiple clinic facilities, ensuring infection control and cleanliness standards are met throughout the contract duration.

Scope

The scope includes comprehensive cleaning of the Ulundi A Clinic and associated facilities, covering various areas such as floors, verandahs, corridors, sinks, showers, baths, building exteriors, and patient linen. The contract spans 6 months, with specified staffing requirements, working hours, and detailed cleaning activities including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. The service also encompasses provision of all necessary cleaning equipment, chemicals, PPE, supervision, and adherence to specified cleaning standards and conditions.

Technical Requirements

• Cleaning of floors (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, resealing, buffing) daily and periodically as specified.
• Disinfection and cleaning of verandahs, corridors, sinks, showers, baths, walls, and high-touch surfaces weekly or as scheduled.
• High-level dusting of ceilings, lights, blinds, and fixtures twice a month.
• Provision of all cleaning chemicals, equipment, PPE (uniforms, gloves, masks, safety shoes, goggles), and protective clothing.
• Adherence to infection control protocols, including frequent cleaning of spillages and contaminated areas.
• Supervision and monitoring of cleaning activities, with regular meetings and attendance registers.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including provision of a Medical Report for employees and certificates such as Good Standing, Bargaining Certificate, and BEE Certificate.
• Implementation of cleaning schedules for 24/7 facilities, with staffing during day and night shifts, including weekend operations for specified clinics.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in healthcare or institutional cleaning services.
• Knowledge of infection control and disinfection procedures.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning machinery and equipment.
• Competence in managing and supervising cleaning staff, including adherence to safety protocols.
• Capacity to provide and manage PPE and cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
• Proficiency in record-keeping, reporting, and attending regular supervision meetings.
• Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to employment, health and safety, and environmental standards.
