Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the cleaning of buildings at Mndozo Clinic, under an 8-month contract. The aim is to ensure hygienic, well-maintained facilities through comprehensive cleaning services that meet specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses daily and periodic cleaning of all hospital buildings and associated areas at Mndozo Clinic, including offices, toilets, corridors, verandahs, and external surroundings. It involves cleaning of floors, walls, windows, furniture, fixtures, and specialized hygiene services, with specified staffing and equipment provisions, over an 8-month contractual period.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of cleaning services for hospital buildings, including daily, weekly, and biannual tasks such as dusting, mopping, deep cleaning, and disinfecting.
• Use of approved, SABS-certified cleaning chemicals and equipment, including detergents, disinfectants, and machinery such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and mops.
• Adherence to infection prevention and control policies, including proper disposal of waste, use of color-coded cleaning tools, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provision of necessary machinery, tools, and protective clothing, with detailed specifications for each item.
• Staffing requirements include personnel for day and night shifts, with specified working hours and responsibilities.
• Implementation of hygiene services such as provision of sanitary supplies, dispensers, and waste management in accordance with infection control policies.
• Compliance with contractual, safety, and quality standards, including documentation, reporting, and supervision protocols.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in cleaning hospital or similar healthcare facilities, evidenced by prior contracts and testimonials.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Staff must be trained in health and safety regulations, proper cleaning techniques, and use of PPE.
• Capacity to manage and supervise cleaning staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and standards.
• Competence in documentation, reporting, and compliance with procurement and contractual procedures.
