Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a contractor for the cleaning of buildings at Newcastle Primary Health Care (PHC) over an 8-month contract period. The aim is to ensure the provision of comprehensive cleaning and maintenance services that meet specified standards, including daily cleaning, hygiene, and safety requirements, to maintain a clean and safe environment at Newcastle PHC.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Cleaning of all buildings and associated areas within Newcastle PHC, including offices, wards, toilets, corridors, verandahs, and external surroundings.
• Provision of cleaning services on a daily basis, including high traffic and high-level dusting, carpet cleaning, waste disposal, and sanitation services.
• Use of specified machinery, cleaning materials, and protective equipment as detailed in the specifications.
• Adherence to infection prevention and control policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Provision of staff uniforms, safety gear, and proper machinery to ensure quality service delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with detailed cleaning specifications, including frequency and methods for cleaning various surfaces and areas.
• Provision of appropriate machinery such as vacuum cleaners, mops, scrubbers, and safety signs, all compliant with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) guidelines.
• Use of approved cleaning chemicals with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Adherence to infection control policies, including proper waste management, hygiene services, and use of PPE.
• Staff training and provision of uniforms and safety equipment.
• Implementation of a daily checklist and reporting system for cleaning activities.

Skills Requirements

The tender stipulates that bidders must demonstrate:

• Experience in cleaning services within healthcare or similar facilities, supported by references or testimonial letters.
• Capability to operate and maintain cleaning machinery and equipment effectively.
