Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the cleaning of Makhosini Clinic buildings over a period of 6 months. The service aims to maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Cleaning of various clinic structures including floors, verandahs, corridors, sinks, showers, baths, walls, and high dusting areas.
• Provision of cleaning personnel across multiple clinics within the district, with specific staffing and operational hours outlined for each facility.
• Regular cleaning schedules such as daily sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, and periodic deep cleaning (e.g., shampooing carpets, high dusting).
• Provision of all necessary cleaning chemicals, equipment, PPE, and protective clothing by the service provider.
• Adherence to specified safety, health, and environmental standards, including submission of relevant compliance documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the detailed cleaning specifications provided, including frequency and methods for cleaning various surfaces and areas.
• Provision of PPE such as overalls, gloves, masks, goggles, and safety shoes for personnel.
• Use of approved cleaning chemicals and equipment, which will be supplied by the facility.
• Supervision and quality control through regular inspections and meetings.
• Submission of necessary legal and compliance documents, including Good Standing certificates, BEE certificates, and medical reports for employees.
• Adherence to health protocols, including PPE usage and infection control measures, especially for high-infection areas.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider and personnel include:

• Qualified and experienced cleaning staff familiar with hospital/clinic cleaning standards.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
• Capacity to supervise and monitor cleaning activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Provision of valid legal and health compliance documentation, including Good Standing and medical reports for employees.
• Effective communication and reporting skills for coordination with the facility management team.
