Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to clean and restore all gutters at Dannhauser CHC and associated clinics to ensure proper rainwater drainage and prevent blockages. Specific tasks include inspecting gutters and downpipes for debris, removing leaves, dirt, silt, and other obstructions, flushing gutters with water, removing minor obstructions, and disposing of waste at an approved site. The outcome aims for all gutters and downpipes to be clean, free of blockages, and functioning effectively.

Scope

The scope covers the cleaning of gutters at multiple clinics including Dannhauser CHC, Verdiert Clinic, Durnacol Clinic, Sukumani Clinic, Emfundweni Clinic, Nellies Farm Clinic, Greenock Clinic, Thandanani Clinic, Ladybank Clinic, Naasfarm Clinic, and others. The work involves:

• Using only SABS-approved materials.
• Handling all enquiries within normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:00).
• Completing all work within two weeks of official order issuance.
• Ensuring staff are identifiable and sign in/out at the site.
• Communicating with the Finance Office before resuming work if utilities are to be used.

Technical Requirements

• All materials used must be SABS approved.
• Work must be supervised by a representative of the Department of Health.
• Work should be completed within two weeks of order issuance.
• Contractors must sign in and out at the maintenance workshop.
• Proper disposal of waste and debris at an approved site.
• Adherence to safety protocols, including PPE, signage, and risk assessments.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in gutter cleaning and maintenance.
• Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment safely.
• Qualified supervision with relevant experience in gutter maintenance.
• Capability to produce references and demonstrate previous similar work.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to gutter cleaning.
