Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services for the buildings at Shelly and Braemer Clinics, ensuring a hygienic environment that reduces the risk of nosocomial infections. The service aims to maintain cleanliness standards through daily cleaning, waste management, and adherence to infection control protocols, including staff training and safety measures.

Scope

The scope includes providing cleaning services at Gamalakhe CHC, specifically for Shelly and Braemer Clinics. It involves:

• Provision of trained cleaning staff (minimum of two staff members per clinic per shift).
• Daily cleaning of buildings, floors, bathrooms, and high surfaces.
• Handling and transportation of medical and general waste.
• Emergency spill response and waste decontamination.
• Maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Periodic staff training and medical surveillance.
• Adherence to infection prevention and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Provision of cleaning staff with embroidered uniforms, PPE, safety boots, and name badges.
• Staff trained in Healthcare Risk Waste Management and infection control practices.
• Availability of staff during specified working hours (07:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, including public holidays).
• On-site waste handling and decontamination procedures.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including submission of safety files and risk assessments.
• Provision of proof of registration with relevant authorities (CIPC, UIF, WCC) and insurance coverage.
• Adherence to specified cleaning standards and reporting requirements.

Skills Requirements

The bidder’s staff must possess:

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in cleaning services.
• Knowledge of Healthcare Risk Waste Management and infection control protocols.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency spills and waste handling issues.
• Physical fitness to perform cleaning tasks, including high-level dusting and window washing.
• Capacity to lead and supervise cleaning staff, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
