Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is for Transnet Pipelines to appoint a cleaning services contractor responsible for providing comprehensive cleaning services at the Ladysmith Workshop and Stores Depot for a period of 36 months. The aim is to ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-maintained environment across all specified areas of the facility.

Scope

The scope of work includes the provision of cleaning services for various areas within the Ladysmith Workshop and Stores Facility, including:

• Stores Facility: daily cleaning of the store, main entrance, floors, passageways, offices, walls, windows, kitchen, waste management, and equipment.
• Office Building / Workshop Facility / Kitchen: daily cleaning of foyers, stairways, passages, offices, security kiosks, boardrooms, walls, carpets, kitchens, toilets, courtyards, and windows.
• Waste management: daily removal and proper disposal of waste, including separation of organic waste.
• Specialized cleaning tasks such as sanitizing urinals and toilet bowls, cleaning air conditioning covers, and maintaining cleanliness of furniture and fixtures.

The scope also covers the provision of cleaning equipment, consumables, and adherence to specified cleaning schedules and standards.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of full-time cleaners: one for the Stores Facility and two for the Office/Workshop areas, working Monday to Friday.
• Cleaning of floors, walls, windows, doors, partitions, air conditioning covers, and other surfaces as specified.
• Regular cleaning of kitchen areas, including sinks and kitchen equipment.
• Sanitization of toilets and ablution facilities, with proper waste disposal and waste container management.
• Use of chemicals and cleaning equipment supplied by the service provider, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Adherence to specified working hours unless otherwise arranged.
• Compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, including producing proof of registration with the Compensation Commissioner and maintaining a SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) Compliance File.
• Site inspections and adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the contract duration.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in commercial and industrial cleaning services, particularly in facility maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Good organizational and time management skills to meet cleaning schedules.
• Attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Ability to produce and maintain necessary compliance documentation and safety files.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with site management and reporting.
