Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services for the Orthopaedic Workshop at Wentworth and Victoria Mxenge Hospitals for a period of 10 months. The service aims to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of offices and buildings within the specified facilities, adhering to infection control standards and maintaining a safe environment.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of outsourced cleaning services for offices and buildings at the Orthopaedic Workshop.
• Cleaning of floors, walls, windows, furniture, and fixtures within the facilities.
• Cleaning of toilets, bathrooms, sluice rooms, and associated sanitary fixtures following infection prevention protocols.
• Cleaning of verandas, walkways, and external areas as specified.
• Use of specified cleaning chemicals, detergents, and equipment supplied by the contractor.
• Provision of staff, uniforms, and necessary cleaning machinery.
• Adherence to health and safety and infection control standards throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the detailed specifications outlined in the tender documentation, including cleaning standards, frequency, and scope of work.
• Provision of qualified and experienced cleaning supervisors with at least 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
• Use of approved cleaning chemicals and equipment that meet safety and infection control standards, with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Adherence to infection prevention protocols, including cleaning schedules for toilets, floors, windows, and high-touch surfaces.
• Provision of necessary cleaning machinery such as vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, polishers, and mops, with costs included in the bid.
• Implementation of quality control measures, including daily checklists and supervision.
• Participation in compulsory site briefing and adherence to specified cleaning hours (Monday to Friday, 07h00 to 16h00).

Skills Requirements

The skills required for bidders include:

• Experience in providing cleaning services within healthcare or similar institutional environments.
• Qualified supervisory staff with demonstrated experience in cleaning operations and infection control.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, infection prevention protocols, and environmental standards.
• Ability to manage and coordinate cleaning staff effectively, ensuring coverage and quality standards are met.
• Competence in handling cleaning machinery and chemicals safely and efficiently.
• Capacity to prepare and implement cleaning schedules, reports, and quality assurance documentation.
• Ability to participate in site inspections, briefings, and adhere to contractual obligations and timelines.
