Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to invite qualified service providers to construct firebreaks at Witsand Municipal Grounds, ensuring the preservation of Milkwood trees and clusters, compliance with environmental and safety standards, and adherence to specified technical and contractual requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the construction of firebreaks measuring up to 5 meters in width and approximately 650 meters in length within the Witsand area. All vegetation, including cut vegetation, must be removed to a designated refuse site. The work involves site preparation, vegetation removal, and ensuring environmental considerations such as preservation of Milkwood trees are met. The project also encompasses obtaining necessary permits for controlled burning and chemical applications.

Technical Requirements

• Construction of firebreaks up to 5 meters wide and 650 meters long, with vegetation removal and site clearance.
• All materials and vegetation must be removed to a refuse site.
• Preservation of Milkwood trees and clusters; no complete removal or crown pruning unless permitted.
• Use of chemicals (Eco Red or Eco Blue) with correct ratios and application dye on stumps.
• Compliance with environmental regulations and obtaining necessary permits for controlled burning and pruning.
• Guarantees including adherence to SABS standards, certified chain saw operators, and valid first-aid certificates.
• Prices must be firm, inclusive of VAT, and delivery where applicable.
