Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider for the training course titled "Getting Acquainted with Water Reticulation Design." The training aims to cover essential components of water supply systems, legislation, water treatment, planning, hydraulic design, pipe network analysis, water distribution methods, conservation, and construction considerations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of water reticulation design training to Hessequa Municipality staff.
• The training will commence around October 2026 and will be delivered at the Hessequa Municipality premises in Riversdale, Van den Berg Street.
• The course content encompasses components of water supply systems, legislation, water treatment, planning, hydraulic design, pipe network analysis, distribution methods, water conservation, and construction considerations.
• The training provider must prepare a comprehensive course outline and deliver the training as specified.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the training include:

• Development of a course outline covering:
  • Components of a complete water supply system
  • Legislation governing water supply in South Africa
  • Water treatment overview
  • Planning of water reticulation systems
  • Water storage, demand, and hydraulic design
  • Water pipe network analysis
  • Methods of water distribution and community-specific selection
  • Water conservation and demand management
  • Design specifications and construction considerations
• Training delivery starting in October 2026.
• Training to be conducted at the Hessequa Municipality, Riversdale.
• Provision of training materials and practical components as necessary.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Expertise in water reticulation design and related water supply systems.
• Experience in delivering technical training in water infrastructure, preferably within South Africa.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and standards.
• Ability to develop comprehensive training materials aligned with municipal and national water policies.
• Proven track record of conducting similar training courses for municipal or governmental entities.
• Capacity to facilitate practical and theoretical learning effectively.
