Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Closed Suction Catheter Y-Type 7Fr for Harry Gwala Hospital, ensuring the supply of quality medical devices that meet specified standards and requirements for clinical use.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of 150 units of the Closed Suction Catheter Y-Type 7Fr, conforming to detailed specifications, and includes compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and procurement policies. The procurement process involves submission of quotations, adherence to technical and administrative requirements, and potential sample submission for evaluation.

Technical Requirements

• Item Description: Closed suction catheter, Y-Type, 7Fr, length approximately 30 cm, sterile, single-use.
• Must have an easy-to-use switch, soft and smooth catheter tip, and colour-coded change indicator stickers.
• Must include a Y connector and adapters ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 mm, with a standard irrigation port.
• Colour graduations for depth measurement must be present.
• Compliance with specified detailed specifications and standards as per the attached Annexure A.
• Samples are required to be submitted and brought to the hospital on 31st August 2025 for evaluation.

Skills Requirements

Procuring bidders must demonstrate:

• Compliance with all administrative, legal, and technical documentation requirements, including valid licensing from SAHPRA.
• Ability to supply the specified quantity within the stipulated delivery period.
• Understanding of procurement policies, including preference points and compliance with legislation such as the Public Finance Management Act and the Department of Health procurement regulations.
