Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to conduct infrared detection tests on the distribution boards and kiosks at Pholela Community Health Centre (CHC) and associated clinics. The tests aim to inspect existing electrical infrastructure, identify hot connections, burnt wiring, missing labels, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for maintenance or repairs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Inspect existing distribution boards (DBs) at Pholela CHC and 9 clinics.
• Check and tint all screws on circuit breakers.
• Inspect wiring in the distribution boards for burnt components and hot connection symptoms.
• Verify and document labels on all distribution boards, providing detailed reports per board.
• Clean inside and outside of all distribution boards, kiosks, and plant rooms.
• Provide written reports with color photographs of hot connections and wiring issues.
• Submit reports in book form, including calibration test certificates of equipment used.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the work include:

• Inspection of distribution boards for electrical faults and hot connections.
• Use of calibrated infrared detection equipment to identify temperature anomalies.
• Provision of detailed, color-coded reports with photographic evidence.
• Compliance with SABS/SANS 825 standards.
• Submission of calibration certificates for testing equipment.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards, including CIDB registration (Electrical EB), and a letter of good standing.
• Provision of verifiable previous work with completion certificates.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified electrical engineers or technicians with wireman licenses.
• Experience in infrared thermography testing and electrical inspections.
• Certification in compliance testing and calibration of testing equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations (SABS/SANS 825).
• Ability to produce detailed technical reports with photographic documentation.
• Valid CIDB registration (Electrical EB) and a valid letter of good standing.
