Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to construct a concrete slab around the VPF (Vegetable Processing Facility) as specified by the Department of Agriculture documentation. The project aims to deliver a durable, properly backfilled, and well-finished concrete slab that meets technical and safety standards, including curing and guarantee requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Construction of a 200mm thick concrete slab with backfill using G5 material, compacted with a roller stamper.
• Provision of polyethylene covering for the backfilled area prior to steel fixing.
• Formwork using steel or wooden shutters with chalk lane marking, oil application, and corner fillets.
• Steel fixing with 10mm bars, mesh wire, cover blocks, and binding wire.
• Cleaning debris underneath the steel structure using a compressor post-concrete placement.
• Ordering and pouring of C25 concrete with a specific pouring sequence to prevent cracking.
• Leveling, floating, and curing of the concrete slab, including the application of curing compounds and plastic covering.
• Post-casting curing period of 28 days with ongoing water application and a 6-month guarantee.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the project include:

• Minimum CIDB registration grade of 02 GB/CE or higher, with proof submitted.
• References for similar projects completed within the last 12 months, at least two letters.
• Participation in a compulsory site briefing at OBP Offices on June 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM, wearing PPE.
• Letter from a reputable concrete supplier indicating procurement arrangements if awarded.
• Compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards as per the Department of Agriculture and OBP requirements.
• Provision of a safety file before commencing work.

Skills Requirements

The skills and expertise required for the successful completion of this tender include:

• Experience in concrete slab construction, including backfilling, formwork, steel fixing, and finishing.
• Ability to manage site safety and adhere to PPE and safety protocols during site briefing and work execution.
• Knowledge of concrete pouring sequences, curing processes, and quality control measures.
• Capability to operate and utilize equipment such as compressors, hand floats, and leveling tools.
• Proven track record with references for similar projects within the last year.
• Compliance with CIDB registration and documentation standards.
