Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cotton wool and foil alum products that meet specified quality and technical standards, ensuring suitability for hospital and medical use. The procurement aims to select a supplier capable of providing high-quality, absorbent cotton wool and heavy-duty aluminum foil rolls, adhering to the specified specifications and quality standards, while also promoting fair procurement practices in line with the Preferential Procurement Framework Act of 2000.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of:

• 50 units of 100% cotton absorbent wool cotton, grade BP, bleached white, soft, fibrous, low-linting, individually packed in paper or polythene bags.
• 50 units of commercial heavy-duty aluminum foil rolls, 70m x 440mm, with a thickness of 0.08mm (80 microns).

The products are intended for hospital and medical applications, requiring compliance with specified quality and packaging standards. The procurement process also encompasses administrative and technical evaluation, including adherence to government procurement policies and supplier eligibility criteria.

The supplier must provide detailed specifications, catalogues, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and data sheets for evaluation.

Skills and Requirements

The tenderer must meet the following skills and eligibility criteria:

• Provision of detailed product specifications, catalogues, COA, and data sheets.
• Compliance with government procurement policies and submission of compulsory documents.
• Demonstration of capacity to supply the specified quantities within the required timeframe.
• Adherence to quality standards suitable for hospital and medical use.
• Submission of valid BBBEE certificates demonstrating black ownership (minimum 51%) and women ownership (minimum 30%), or disability confirmation where applicable.
• Ability to comply with administrative requirements, including registration on the procurement portal and submission of all necessary documentation.
