Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Covaroll-fluid Resistance or Impermeable full face shields in sizes S, Medium, and Large, along with face and eye protection equipment, to ensure high standards of safety and protection for healthcare personnel at Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement aims to enhance safety measures against biological hazards, blood-borne pathogens, and other biological or chemical risks in clinical environments.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of:

• 400 units of full face shields designed for medical and clinical use, available in sizes S, Medium, and Large.
• Additional face and eye protection equipment, including full face shields with specified technical features.
• Supplies must meet specified technical standards, including compliance with safety and quality standards, and be delivered to Ngwelezane Hospital within the contract period.

The procurement process includes evaluation based on compliance with specifications, price, preference points, and submission of samples where required.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the full face shields and related equipment include:

• Material: Optically clear, shock-resistant, and fluid-resistant (e.g., polycarbonate for reusable options or high-visibility plastics for single-use).
• Dimensions: Wraparound width approximately 25-30 cm and height approximately 20-34 cm for full facial coverage.
• Design: Includes a comfortable, adjustable headband (elastic or ratchet), hypoallergenic foam forehead pad, and secure fit features.
• Safety Standards: Must comply with recognized impact and chemical resistance standards, such as those specified by relevant safety and health authorities.
• Additional features: Elasticated wrists and ankles for coveralls, integrated hoods, secure front zippers with storm flaps, sealed seams, elastic cuffs, thumb loops, and high-visibility colors.
• Compliance: All products must meet SABS approved standards and relevant safety and health regulations.
