Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure compliant, high-quality medical supplies for immediate clinical use at Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement seeks to secure a cost-effective, reliable supplier while adhering to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health’s regulatory standards and preferential procurement legislation.

Scope

• Supply of 200 units of Cysto Irrigation Sets.
• Single delivery contract with a strict maximum lead time of 15 working days (3 weeks) from contract award.
• All quoted prices must be firm, all-inclusive (covering delivery and VAT where applicable), and valid for 90 days.
• Evaluation utilises an 80/20 preference point system: 80 points allocated to price competitiveness and 20 points to socio-economic transformation goals (specifically promoting South African-owned enterprises).

Technical Requirements

• Products must fully comply with the hospital’s attached specification document and hold SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) approval.
• Supplied items must be brand new, unused, current market models, and retain a minimum shelf life of six months upon delivery.
• Bidders must possess a valid licence issued by SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority), which is the mandatory national regulator certifying that manufacturers, wholesalers, or distributors of medical devices meet safety, efficacy, and quality control standards.
• Quotations must be submitted on official government forms without retyping, accompanied by completed SBD declarations, Central Supplier Database (CSD) verification, and SARS tax compliance documentation.
• Samples may be requested for technical evaluation; failure to provide them when instructed results in automatic rejection.
• A warranty covering defects in design, materials, or workmanship applies for 12 months post-delivery or 18 months post-shipment, whichever expires first.
• Cysto Irrigation Set: A sterile medical device kit containing catheters, tubing, reservoir bags, and connectors used for bladder flushing and irrigation during urological procedures or catheter management.
