Objectives

The primary objective is to appoint a qualified service provider to maintain and service fire protection equipment at the Durban Magistrate Court. The contract will be awarded to the highest-scoring compliant bidder, evaluated using an 80/20 preference points system in accordance with the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) Regulations of 2022.

Scope

The scope covers the comprehensive servicing, inspection, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems and fire detection equipment at the designated court facility. Suppliers are encouraged to attend a site briefing to clarify operational expectations and deliverables. All quotations must be submitted prior to the closing deadline; late submissions will be rejected.

Technical Requirements

• Suppliers must be actively registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Bids must comply with the 80/20 PPPFA scoring methodology for price and preference points.
• All supporting documentation, particularly professional registrations and certificates, must be current, legible, and verifiable.
• Quotations received after the official closing time will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate a technically competent workforce capable of performing specialized fire system maintenance:

• The company must employ qualified artisans or technicians with expertise in the mechanical field.
• A minimum of two (2) artisans or technicians must hold a valid, current SAQCC gas practitioner certificate specifically for fire systems.
• Proof of these certifications must be attached to the quotation for evaluation.
