Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure disposable defibrillator pads suitable for both adults and paediatric patients, ensuring availability of compliant and high-quality emergency medical supplies at Ladysmith Regional Hospital.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of disposable defibrillator pads for adults and paeds, conforming to specified standards, and meeting the detailed technical and quality requirements. The procurement covers the required quantities as per the quotation, with the contract period being once-off delivery, and includes compliance with all relevant specifications, standards, and regulatory approvals.

Technical Requirements

• Self-adhesive electrodes with pre-gelled pads for optimal conductivity and patient comfort.
• Electrodes must be AED compatible and conform to the specified quality standards (AED defibrillator electrodes).
• Size specifications for adult and paediatric pads must be adhered to.
• Items must be packaged appropriately for safe transit and storage.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required, and ensure products meet the attached specifications (as per Annexure A).
• Items must be compliant with SABS or SANS standards and approved by SAPHRA for medical devices.

Skills Requirements

Bidder’s skills and competencies must include:

• Proven experience in supplying medical devices, specifically defibrillator pads.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards (SABS/SANS) and regulatory requirements (SAPHRA).
• Ability to provide technical documentation, specifications, and proof of compliance.
• Capacity to deliver within the specified timeframe and in accordance with quality standards.
• Competence in completing and submitting all required documentation, including specifications, declaration forms, and preference claim forms.
