Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure sterile, hand-held diathermy electrodes with removable tips, compatible with ValleyLab diathermy machines, for use in electrosurgery procedures at Grey's Hospital. The electrodes are intended to facilitate cutting, coagulation, or tissue removal during surgical operations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of 50 boxes of diathermy electrodes, each box containing 50 units, totaling 2,500 units. The electrodes must be sterile, expiry-dated, and compatible with Medtronic ValleyLab diathermy equipment. The procurement is for use within Grey's Hospital, under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Sterile packed diathermy electrodes with removable tips.
• Each box contains 50 units, with a total of 50 boxes required.
• Compatibility with ValleyLab diathermy machines from Medtronic.
• Expiry date clearly marked on each package.
• Proprietary design ensuring compatibility with ValleyLab equipment.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Bidder must be a registered supplier with the necessary licenses to manufacture, import, or distribute medical devices as per South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) standards.
• Proven experience in supplying medical electrosurgical accessories, preferably diathermy electrodes.
• Capability to provide technical documentation, expiry dates, and sterile packaging standards.
• Ability to supply samples for testing and evaluation.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preferential procurement and BBBEE requirements.
