Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver disposable Caesarean section drape packs, including clear incise film, fluid collection pouches, disposable gowns, baby blankets, hand towels, and back table covers, to Umphumulo Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the hospital is equipped with sterile, high-quality surgical drapes and related items necessary for Caesarean procedures.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 500 disposable Caesarean section drape packs with specified components, including:

• Clear incise film
• Fluid collection pouch
• Two disposable gowns
• Baby blanket
• Hand towels (x2)
• Back table cover

The delivery is a once-off contract to Umphumulo Hospital, with the items to meet the specified standards and requirements outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• The drape pack must include a clear incise film and fluid collection pouch.
• The components must conform to relevant standards and specifications, including SAHPRA certification and CICP documentation.
• The products must be sterile, of recent manufacture, and comply with SANAS/SABS standards.
• All items must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit and storage.
• Suppliers must provide samples for testing if requested, and samples must meet the specified quality standards.
• All documentation, including SAHPRA certificates, CICP, sworn or B-BBEE certificates, must be submitted with the bid.
• The delivery must be completed within the specified timeframe, with all goods delivered to the hospital’s designated location.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying medical consumables, particularly surgical drapes and related items.
• Knowledge of medical standards, certification requirements, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to provide technical documentation and certification for medical products.
• Capacity to deliver goods in compliance with health and safety regulations and hospital standards.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with hospital procurement and supply chain management teams.
