Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure disposable coveralls (XXXL size) for Addington Hospital to ensure staff protection against blood-borne diseases, particularly in the context of viral hemorrhagic fever and other infectious hazards. The procurement aims to meet safety standards, ensure quality, and comply with relevant health regulations.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 150 units of disposable coveralls with specific specifications such as fluid resistance, tear resistance, anti-static properties, and seamless design for effective protection. The coveralls are intended for use in the hospital's isolation ward, specifically for staff protection against infectious diseases. The procurement process covers the entire supply chain, from sample submission and technical compliance to delivery and documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Disposable coveralls made of abrasion-resistant spun-bound polypropylene.
• Features include elastic hood and wrists, long sleeves and pants with attached boots, and a cloth-like, tough outer layer.
• Middle layer should be breathable microporous film offering resistance to liquids and dry particles.
• Zipped front with taped storm flap and seamless construction to provide protection in primary exposure areas.
• Complies with specified size (XXXL), color, and material standards.
• Packaging: 40 units per box.
• Samples required for evaluation and approval prior to full procurement.
• All items must be SABS or SANS approved, with valid certification and expiry dates clearly marked.

Skills Requirements

• Ability to provide physical samples and full CSD report demonstrating supplier capacity.
• Provision of valid BBBEE certificate or affidavit to support preferential procurement points.
• Compliance with technical specifications and standards, including the ability to meet delivery timelines.
• Experience in supplying medical protective clothing, with proof of previous orders and deliveries.
• Capacity to produce and deliver the required quantity within the specified contract period.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of correct documentation, samples, and adherence to site visit requirements.
